Obituary of Melvin Charles Horton

Melvin Charles Horton, age 78, of the Albion Community, passed away Friday, February 05, 2016, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Charles was born February 8, 1937, in Hill County, Texas to Richard and Thelma Robinson Horton. He was a farmer and a rancher. Mr. Horton loved his grandchildren which he called his “Monks”. He enjoyed music and built Fiddles in his pastime. His horses, gardening and being outdoors were also some of his favorite pastimes. Most of all he loved his family and friends. The family will receive friends an hour before service time at the church. Funeral services are set for 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at the Albion Church with Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Albion Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are, Michael Richardson, Michael Troy Richardson, Lee Stiles, David Joyner, Jr., Micheal Reves, Robert Jarrett and Roy Ervin. Honorary Pallbearers are, David Joyner, Sr., Charles David Jackson, Chris Ervin and Jim Clark. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Peek Horton of the home; son, Johnny Horton and wife, Diane of Clarksville; daughter, Debra Thomas and husband, Troy of Clarksville; brothers, Harold Horton of Denison and Dwight Horton and wife, Darlene of Lubbock; grandchildren, Nancy Joyner and husband, David of Clarksville, Marla Richardson and husband, Michael of Clarksville and Julie Reves and husband, Micheal of Clarksville; great grandchildren, Tiffiny Stiles and husband, Lee, Rileigh Richardson, Jennifer Applegate, Jamie Applegate, Michael Troy Richardson and Ryan Reves.
