Obituary of Byron Thomas Pace

Byron Thomas Pace, age 87, of Clarksville, passed away November 11, 2015, at Clarksville Nursing Center. Mr. Pace was born May 27, 1928, in the Madras Community of Red River County the son of Byron L. and Ima Lee Williamson Pace. Byron retired from the Midland Fire Department and later returned to Red River County and served as a Substitute Rural Mail Carrier. He loved being on the Pace family land where he raised cattle. Mr. Pace served in the National Guard and was a member of the First Baptist Church. Funeral services are set for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 14, 2015, at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Gossett officiating. Burial will follow in Madras Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Sammy Beene, Tommy VanDeaver, Don Eudy, Blaine Puckett, Larry Straton and Chuck McClary. The family will receive friends an hour before service time at the church. Survivors include his wife, Bettye Kaye Davidson Pace of Clarksville; 2 sons, Leslie Byron Pace and wife, Ann of Midland and Bradley Thomas Pace of Midland; 1 daughter, Leigh Ann Pace of Midland; 1 step-son, Billy Dee Snody of Clarksville; 1 sister, Ella Ruth Wallace of Clarksville; and 3 grandchildren, Christopher, Amy and Ashley Pace.
