Obituary of Doyle Howland
Doyle Howland, age 76, of Avery, passed away, Monday, September 21, 2015, at his residence.
Mr. Howland was born, January 19, 1939, in Clarksville to Jimmy David and Newell Cox Howland. Doyle owned Howland’s Welding Shop in Avery for over 30 years. He served on the Avery City Council, loved camping, fishing and being with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a step father, James Goff. Doyle was of the Baptist faith. He married Brenda Kennedy on April 2, 1977.
Graveside services are set for 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 25, 2015, at Avery Cemetery with Rev. H.D. Deanie Lambert and Rev. Don Hall officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Bobby Arnold, Sidney Arnold, Jason Lambert, Mark Nicks, Dennis Crum and Steve Annis. Honorary Pallbearers are, Randal Audas, Richard Potter, Doug Whitten, Jerry Manly and Maruice Mask.
The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Clarksville Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda, Kennedy, Howland of Avery; sons, Jimmy David Howland of Avery, Charles Howland and wife, Fonda of Doddridge, Arkansas, Jimmy Billy of Spavinaw, Oklahoma, Onis Wilson of Texarkana and Jerry Wilson and wife, Dottie of Temecual, California; daughters, Vickie Howland of Spring and Sonja Wilson of Avery; sister, Barbara Syrus of Cleburne; 14 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and his special companion, Sully.
