Obituary of Joe D. Phillips

Joe Don Phillips, age 65, of Soper, Oklahoma, passed away, Sunday, August 30, 2015, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mr. Phillips was born, June 23, 1950, in Gatesville, the son of J.W. and Hazel Mitchell Phillips. He was employed by KBR Construction Company. Joe was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Jimmy Phillips. He was a very uplifting person who loved to make people laugh. Funeral services are set for 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 2, 2015, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Tuggle Springs Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Charles Martin, Mike Walls, Charles Lafferty, Jessy Williams, Kelly Don Phillips, Daniel Gibson, Jeffery Wilson and Glenn Sheets. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Sheets Phillips of Soper, Oklahoma; his mother, Hazel Phillips of Clarksville; 4 sons, Joey Phillips of Detroit, Kelly Phillips of Houston, Jeffery Phillips of Dallas and Daniel Gibson of Soper, Oklahoma; 2 daughters, Lisa Riddell of Houston and Janie Joplin of Durant, Oklahoma; 2 sisters, Gloria Tolsdorf of Ft. Worth and Linda Singleton of North Richland Hills; 1 brother, Gary Phillips of Clarksville; 10 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
