Obituary of James "Jim" Adams

James “Jim” Adams, age 76, of Clarksville, passed away, Sunday, July 19, 2015, at his residence. James was born March 17, 1939, in Hobbs, New Mexico, to Bennie and Inez Loftin Adams. He graduated from Altus High School in Altus, Oklahoma and went on the play golf and football at the University of Tulsa. James started his golf career as the head professional at Canyon Creek Golf Club in San Antonio and then at Panorama Golf Club in Conroe. After the clubhouse burned down he decided to get into the electrical business for the next 40 years. He worked in San Antonio, Midland, Arlington and then back to Paris. He caddied for his brother John on the PGA tour for a couple of years. John’s remarks of his caddy skills were "Good brother, awfull caddy" James loved animals, people and always had a smile, he was everyone's favorite guy to golf with. Soar with the Eagles and angels James, you will truly be missed! Memorial services will be held August 10, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Colgrove officiating. Arrangements are under the directions of Clarksville Funeral Home. There will be a gathering of family and friends at the Clarksville Country Club immediately following the service. Survivors include his loving companion Paula Petty of Clarksville; 1 son, Eric Adams and wife, Ranita of San Antonio; 3 daughters, Jocelyn Tolle and husband, Jeff of Bixby, Oklahoma, Jennifer Hand and husband, Terry of Naples, Florida and Shawn Blair and husband, Max of Alpine, California; one sister, Mary Waddle and husband, Jim of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 2 brothers, John Adams and wife, Jane of Paris and Craig Adams and wife, Paula of Midland and 12 Grandchildren.
