Obituary of Loui E. "Ed" Lindeman III

Loui Edward “Ed” Lindeman, III passed away on Friday, July 10, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Lindeman was born on February 20, 1941, in Dallas, Texas the son of Loui Edward and Martha Edrington Lindeman, Jr. The family then moved to Avery before moving to Clarksville. Ed attended Clarksville Schools and graduated from Clarksville High School in 1959. After graduation, he attended Paris Junior College and College of the Ozarks. He then attended Gupton-Jones School of Mortuary Science, where he graduated in 1963. Upon his graduation from mortuary school, he returned to Clarksville and joined his father in their family business, Clarksville Funeral Home. On June 29, 1963, Ed married Connie Kay in Clarksville. As a strong supporter of Clarksville and Red River County, Ed has been a member of the Clarksville Rotary Club for fifty-two years, where he was a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a little league baseball coach, and a lifelong member of McKenzie Memorial United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Layman’s Sunday School Class. Ed was a competitive skeet shooter and was a founder of the Clarksville Gun Club. He received the Pioneer Business Award from the Red River County Chamber of Commerce. An avid sportsman, Ed enjoyed bass fishing, deer, quail, turkey and squirrel hunting. He instilled in his sons, Lee and Scott, the importance of hunter safety and game management. He continued on this tradition with his beloved grandson and granddaughter, Layne and Karlee, who called him EO. He was a selfless man. Ed was known for his wittiness and his sayings will carry on in the memories of all that knew him. Ed’s family was very important to him, and he always put their wants before anything. He enjoyed time spent with them on hunting trips, at sporting events, and just riding around with them. If Ed thought that any one needed something, he made sure that they had it. His generosity was unending. In his fifty plus years in the family business, Ed literally helped thousands of families in their time of need. The family will receive friends one hour before service time at Clarksville Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2015, at 2:00 pm in the Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Colgrove and Rev. Don Shovan officiating.
