Obituary of Frances Drew Bachman

Frances Drew Bachman, age 83, of Clarksville, passed away June 19, 2015,at Baylor Hospital in Plano, Texas. Frances was long time owner of Clarksville Florist. She was born May 19, 1932, in the Little Chicago Community of Red River County the daughter of Emmett “Buster” Drew Ham and Frances Irene Davison. Frances started out in the service business at the age of 17 helping her father who owned a grocery store in the Little Chicago Community. Later she went to work for longtime business owner Willie Mae Witmer. There she learned the tricks of the trade and opened Clarksville Florist in August of 1960. She has remained in business until her death. Frances was a kind hearted giving person who loved her hometown and its people. She was a past recipient of the Red River County Pioneer Business Award. Frances attended the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral services are set for 6:00 p.m., Tuesday 23, 2015, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home. Burial will follow in New Shamrock Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends an hour before service time at Clarksville Funeral Home. Survivors include sister, Linda Anderson of Utah; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and her beloved dog, Benji. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the New Shamrock Presbyterian Church or the New Shamrock Cemetery. 597 CR 2123, Clarksville, Texas 75426.
