Obituary of Bobby Dean Storey
Bobby Dean Storey, age 84, of the English Community, passed away Monday, April 13, 2015, at Clarksville Nursing Center. Mr. Storey was born February 19, 1931, in the English Community of Red River County to Joseph N. and Bennie Bryant Storey. Bob was preceded in death by a son, Larry D. Storey; and 3 brothers, Quillard, Joseph N. and Ben Bryant Storey. He married Annie P. Burrow on August 13, 1949. Bob served as a police officer with the Midland Police Department from 1958 until 1974. While there he was in charge of the first canine unit that the department had. He and Annie Pearl moved back in 1974 and he joined the Bowie County Sheriff’s office from 1975 until 1978. Bob joined the Red River County Sheriff’s office and was appointed Red River County Sheriff in 1978 and served until 1992. He was elected Sheriff of Red River County in 2000 and served until his retirement in 2001. Bob was a member of the Texas National Guard and was a member of Friendship Lodge #16 AF&AM. He and Annie Pearl are members of the Williams Chapel United Methodist Church.
Funeral services are set for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 16, 2015, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. James Brown and Rev. Jack Cloyd officiating. Burial will follow in English Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Beau Brown, Gerrod Hadley, Jerry Murphy, Matt Reed, Chris Howerter, Val Varley and Brad Varley.
Honorary Pallbearers are Bill Minter, Dale Hines, Danny Hines, Eddie Cuiksa, Gene Simmons, George English, Bobby George and Ronnie Richardson.

Survivors include his wife, Annie P. Storey of the English Community; 1 son, Tony Bob Storey of the English Community; 3 daughters, Sandra Embrey of Clarksville, Rhonda Reed and husband, Guy of Odessa and Lisa Hadley and husband, Glen of Midland; 1 sister, Wanda Varley of Clarksville; 1 brother, Wayne Storey of New Boston; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff of Clarksville Nursing Center, Paris Regional Medical Center and to the Cypress Basin Hospice for their professional care.
