Obituary of Janis Carolyn Scarborough
Janis Carolyn “Carol” Scarborough, age 68, of Woodway, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at home with her beloved husband, Max L. Scarborough.
Carol was born in Clarksville, Texas on June 1, 1946. She was the daughter of the late Homer and Robbie Tyler. Carol spent hours doing genealogy which opened up a new world for her that drew her into many society memberships such as The General Society of Mayflower Descendants, The National Society Daughters of the American Colonists, The United Daughters of the Confederacy, National Society Daughters of Colonial Wars, Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company and The Daughters of the American Revolution. Carol was a leading founder and charter member of the Waco Chapter of the Texas Mayflower Society. A dream of Carol’s was fulfilled when she was elected as State Governor for The Texas Mayflower Society. Carol also loved spending time working with horses, dogs, gardening, birding, and reading. Her creativity is evident in the many decorative touches in her home including many beautiful paintings done by her.
Graveside services are set for 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2015, at New Haven Cemetery. Burial is under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Carol is survived by her husband Max Scarborough of the home; her daughters Rebecca Michelle Scarborough of China Spring, Sherri Denise Brewer (Michael) of China Spring and Lacy Breanne Scarborough Rogers (Aaron) of Round Rock; Carol also leaves three beautiful granddaughters, Tara Nichole Brewer Lyman (Zach), Ashley Dawn Brewer and Katelyn Elizabeth Rogers who is currently awaiting the birth of her baby sister Brighton Abigail Rogers; Carol also leaves her brother Leslie Tyler (Susan) and nephew Kristopher Lee Tyler (Lisa); niece Shanna Kay Segleski as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends; and especially “The Cousins”.
