Obituary of Aubrey Carlton Ford

Aubrey Carlton “June” Ford, Jr., age 74, of Detroit, passed away, Thursday, April 02, 2015, at his residence. June was born May 1, 1940, in Red River County. He was the son of Aubrey Carlton and Anna Mae Burks Ford. June was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters, Sally Austin, Pat Brock and Joan Gibson; and a niece, Tracy Gibson. He was the son of a farmer along the Red River but spent his career days in Dallas. He moved back to Grandpa Ford’s farm in Addielou in 1982. June made it real clear that he had plowed his last row crop as a kid, so he raised cattle for several years. He gave all of the old farm equipment away. June retired from Merchants Freight Line Company in Irving and was a member of the Leesville Baptist Church. Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 6, 2015, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in Blanton Creek Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends an hour before service time at Clarksville Funeral Home. Survivors include the mother of his children and best friend, Molly Hawley Ford; 1 son, Mike Ford and wife, Lori of Addielou; 1 daughter, Karla Ford Alley and friend, Tim Millsap of Detroit; 2 sisters, Travis Hamil and Ann Hawley both of Houston; 3 grandchildren, Meagen Smith and husband, Austin, Arianna Cavitt and Carlton Alley; 1 brother-in-law, Mack Gibson of Blossom; several nieces and nephews; and 1 soon to arrive great-granddaughter, Mollie Grace.
