Obituary of Lourinda Lyons Pelfrey

Lourinda Lyons Pelfrey, age 96, of Clarksville, formerly of West Liberty, Kentucky, passed away February 28, 2015, at Clarksville Nursing Center. Mrs. Pelfrey was born September 26, 1918, in Crockett, Kentucky to Landford and Emma Fannin Lyons. She was a homemaker and a member of the War Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Pelfrey was a native Kentuckian and loved her time in Texas. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed being with her Clarksville Nursing Center Family. She married Ova Pelfrey on July 20, 1934 and he preceded her in death on April 20, 1995. She was also preceded in death by 2 sons, Sammie and Bill Pelfrey; son-in-law, Wendell Coffey; sister-in-law, Sandy Pelfrey; and 5 siblings. Visitation will be on Monday, March 2, 2015, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at the War Creek Baptist Church in West Liberty, Kentucky. Survivors include 1 son, Freddie Pelfrey and wife, Valarie of Lexington, Kentucky; 3 daughters, Emma Sue Williams and husband, Arkie of Dayton, Ohio, Brenda Coffey of Louisville, Kentucky; and Fawna Boggs and husband, Bill of Clarksville; her grandchildren, Duane, Ellen, Lathella, Stan, Scott, Linda, James Eugene, Patricia, Regina, Lisa, Andrea and Brittney; 16 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
