Obituary of Billy Floyd Bratton

Billy Floyd Bratton, age 78, of the Boxelder Community, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2014, at McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel, Oklahoma. Mr. Bratton was born August 21, 1934, in the Boxelder Community to Eulon and Katie Belle Floyd Bratton. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Douglas Baird. Billy married his wife of 60 years, Jane Peek on June 19, 1954. He retired after 28 years from the Texas Department of Transportation and moved back to the Boxelder Community. There he enjoyed playing domino s with his friends, raising cattle and spending time with his grandchildren. Funeral services are set for 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 13, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Gilliam Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Bernie Huddleston, Ross Schwab, Chance Schwab, Robby Bickley, Trey Bickley and Laud Maroney. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife, Jane Bratton of Boxelder; his son, Billy W. Bratton and wife, Connie of Colleyville; his daughter, Betty Bickley and husband, Gene of Mansfield; grandchild, Jennifer Munguia and great grandchildren, Sierra, James, Marya & Piper; grandchild Becky Bates and great grandchild, Ryker.
