Obituary of Gladys Smith

Gladys Smith, age 92, of Annona, passed away Tuesday, July 08, 2014, at Regency Nursing Center. Mrs. Smith was born in Booneville, Mississippi to Joe and Junie Wallace Surratt. She was of the Baptist faith. Gladys loved gardening, cooking, fishing and listening to music. Most of all, she loved her family and friends. Gladys was a friend to everyone she met. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, L.D. Smith and one brother Ray Surratt. Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m. July 12, 2014 in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Bro. Alan Sumner officiating. Burial will follow at Garland Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Michael Smith, Beau Dyas, Zach Smith, Jaimie Crabtree, Adam Crabtree and Shane Crabtree. Survivors include her three sons, Wayne Smith and wife Becky Sue of Batesville, Mississippi, Delbert Smith and wife Dixie of Lambert, Mississippi and Larry Smith of Annona; four daughters, Sue Sumner and husband Richard of Oakland, Mississippi, Patricia Brumbelow and husband Tom of Walls, Mississippi, Linda Gail Crabtree and husband David of Fouke, Arkansas and Barbie Bray and husband Roy Dale of New Boston; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren; and her caretaker and very dear friend, Betty Wright.
