I am the granddaughter of Josie Terry, I am so sorry for your family's loss. Back in the early 80's, we were visiting Granny (Josie Terry). My husband and son walked to the back and went squirrel hunting early in the morning. My husband was not planning on being gone long and did not even wear a shirt. They were in the woods that runs along the bayou, too make along story short, our son came home but my husband got lost. He was walking all day in 100 degree weather and no water, that afternoon we called for help, everyone was arriving and here comes Bill with my husband. My husband had finally made it to the bayou road and walked to Bills house, when Bill saw him he did not want to open the door. There stood a man who looked like the devil. could not talk above a whisper and carrying a gun, but when he heard he was married to Josie's granddaughter, he brought him home. That day Bill was Superman and every super hero you have known to me, he saved my husbands life because I don't think he could have gone another step. He stood 10 feet to me and I always remember his smile. He was a blessing to us. I remember going to Aunt Virginia's house as a child and playing with Mark in her front yard. Again so sorry for your loss and prayers for you all.

Mark, I am at a loss for words, but not for memories. As far back as I can remember, Uncle Bill and Aunt Bina were a large part of our lives. I remember when I was very young, before I was old enough to start school, your parents were leaving Bell and Archie's store and Bell said "Selby and Bill are just like brothers." I was too young to understand the 'just like' part of the sentence. In my 3 or 4 year old mind, they were brothers. And so Uncle Bill and Aunt Bina it was. I am 52 years old and he is still Uncle Bill. Don and I are closer to him than we were to most of our actual uncles. Thank you for sharing them with us. You are all in my prayers. Susan

Mark called him Dad - I always call him Pop and his grandsons - "the boys" call him Boppy and the folks at the ranch called him Billy – he shared his love with us all. Born July 23, 1925 through today he professed to having lived a “good life” and even for the last few years where he only remembered parts of it - there was comfort in knowing his smiles were genuine and that he indeed enjoyed his days on this earth! Especially if he had a piece of pecan pie! Some of those days were in White Rock, Texas on a family farm established in 1839 which he purchased in 1960. He married a girl from Saginaw Michigan who came to be known to us as Mimi but started out as Bina Faye Hasse and they beget a son who he bragged on and made him very proud! Bina and Bill were married until death did part them in Feb. 2000. Oh, how Pop loved that ranch! I believe there were some pretty lucky cows to roam that land and Pop covered many an acre on foot and tractor intimately knowing the nooks and crannies and pecan trees. For 26 years he teased about being a “drug pusher” while at Bristol Myers. He was very successful in the genre' of salesman - always a smile, a joke, a desire to help. Upon retirement he headed right back to White Rock and toggled between there and Irving until taking up full residency once again. He had great friends in Clarksville one being Lucy Lollar. Together they shared company, laughs and bingo. We are thankful of her devotion to Pop. We also thank Clarksville Nursing Center's staff for the care they gave to Pop for almost 2 years. DID I MENTION POP LOVED PECAN PIE!!! May you now enjoy the freedom of your memory Pop – I love you and will sure miss you.

I didn't know much about him but knocked on his door one snowy thanksgiving day about 15 years ago when I got my truck stuck in my grandmothers yard couple miles away. He quickly jumped on his tractor and came down and pulled me out.....very nice man my condolences to his friends and family
