Obituary of Jerry Lynn Jackson

Jerry Lynn Jackson age 58 of Avery passed away Wednesday, September 09, 2009 at Christus St. Michaels Hospital in Texarkana. Jerry was born May 9, 1951 in Avery to Buster and Flora Bell McPeak Jackson. Jerry was a U.S. Postal Service worker in Red River County and he and his wife, Regina, owned the Jerry Jackson Shop in Avery. Jerry was a member of the First Baptist Church of Avery, served on the Avery School Board for 13 years and a member of ACES, the American Chevelle Enthusiast Society. His three favorite things in life were kids, cars and his family. Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Buster Jackson. Survivors include his wife; Regina Jackson, two sons; Jerid and wife April of Pineland, Joel and wife Maegan of Mt. Vernon; three grandchildren, Ashley, Avery and Hudson; his Mother, Flora Bell Jackson of Avery; three brothers, Leonard Jackson of Powderly, Murray Jackson of Paris and Roy Jackson of Avery. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 12 in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Deanie Lambert and Dr. Gary Vandeaver officiating. Burial will follow in Avery Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are; James Landers, Robert Crouch, Charles Howland, Mike Coughran, Richard Webster, Rodney Phelps and Chris Phelps. Honorary Pallbearers are; Joe Miller, Joe Bearden, Ken Chapman, Anthony Tucker and Ronnie Harp. Memorials may be made in Jerry’s name to the Guaranty Bond Bank, P.O. Box 1367, Mt. Vernon, Texas 75457 for the Jerry Jackson Memorial Scholarship.
