I was just thinking about "Uncle Sonny". That's how I always heard his name. A genuine, bonafide rancher. Bill Terry (we lost him in May 2014) was my father-in-law and I sure loved these two men! Aunt Evie too (her spitting in that can was the first woman I ever saw chew! When Mark Terry and I married these were just the most special people! Uncle Sonny kept a horse by our property, we visited him almost every time we were there........one of our later visits, when we took over some food, he enjoyed was showing off his garden and that plethora of okra! Always a smile and a hug......true salt of the earth. Always remembered with love!

Debbie Peterson Spruill posted a condolence
Saturday, July 5, 2014
Sorry to hear about the loss of Sonny Terry. I so wanted to get up there and visit with him to hear the stories of his growing up with my Aunt Barbara and Uncle Joe. I was there on July 4th of this year to go by cemetery but was unable to locate it. I lost my dad, Paul Peterson in 2008 and the only remaining brother still alive is my uncle, Ed Peterson.
