Obituary of James Harvey Fryar
James Harvey Fryar, Jr. formerly of the Hopewell Community, passed away, February 20, 2014, in a Justin, Texas nursing home. He was 93. Mr. Fryar was born July 12, 1920, in the Hopewell Community to James Harvey and Zona Lowrance Fryar, Sr. He was an avid deer hunter and loved playing the guitar with his friends. Mr. Fryar was a member of the Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, Friendship Lodge #16, AF&AM and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Fryar; a grandson, Jeff Fryar, three brothers, three sisters and a great-granddaughter, Sagan Donaldson.
Graveside services with Masonic Rites are set for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 22, 2014, at Tuggle Springs Cemetery with Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6 to 8, at Clarksville Funeral Home.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Fryar and wife, Gloria of Minden, Louisiana; a daughter, Sandra Lawler and husband, Ken of Justin; grandchildren, Andy Shipp, Angie White, Jana Fryar and Sandee Palmer, eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
