Obituary of Margaret L. Rose
Margaret Louise (Geers) Rose, age 87, of Clarksville, passed away, Monday, February 03, 2014, at Clarksville Nursing Center.
Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 5, 2014, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Don Shovan officiating. Interment will follow in New Shamrock Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends an hour before service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Michael Carlton, Miguel Cabrera, Jerry Steward, Deanie Lambert, Bobby Broomfield and Jim Neeland. Honorary Pallbearers are Ross Price and Donnie Mabry.
Margaret attended school in Bagwell and later graduated from Clarksville High School. She was married to Kenneth Rose. Margaret had worked for the Dallas Fire Department in the early 1950’s. Margaret retired in 1988, from Sesame Products in Paris after working over 30 years. She was a faithful Dallas Cowboy fan and also loved working in her garden and flower beds and dedicated her time to her family. She was a member of the New Shamrock Presbyterian Church in the Mabry Community where she lived before her residence in Clarksville Nursing Center.
She was born November 6, 1926, in Bagwell, the daughter of the late Manuel and Lena Shaver Geers. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers; Dr. Paul Geers, Otis Geers, Jessie Geers; and sister, Tressie Geers Laminack; grandson Jimmy Lee Brantley; and great-granddaughter, Adrianne Michelle Rodriguez.
Survivors include her daughter, Alma Rose Peek and husband, Bill of Clarksville; granddaughters, Keitha Carlton and husband Michael of Paris and Barbie Cabrera and husband, Miguel of Farmersville; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Lewis Geers of Longview and many more relatives and friends.
