Obituary of W. L. Risinger
W.L. “Dub” Risinger, age 89, of Clarksville, passed away Monday, January 27, 2014, at the V.A. Community Living Center in Bonham. Dub was born October 28, 1924, in Quannah. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a lifelong member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of forty years, Sarah Dell Goelz Risinger; and an infant son, Lyndale Risinger.
Private graveside services are set for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 30, 2014, at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Survivors include one daughter, Lesa Ragan and husband, Tom of Clarksville; one step-son, Robert A. Popp of Las Vegas, Nevada; two grandchildren, Ryan Ragan and wife, Amber of Norphlet, Arkansas and Ardra Shelby and husband, Brett of Frisco; two step-grandchildren, Melissa Lloyd and husband, David of New York, New York and Matthew Popp of Las Vegas, Nevada; one sister, Bea Pool of Dallas; and one brother, Carl Risinger of Pearland; and three great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials to be made to the Red Cross.
