Obituary of Barry Gene Peek

Barry Gene Peek, age 66, of Annona, passed away, Monday, December 02, 2013, at his residence. Barry was born May 10, 1947, in Red River County, Texas, to Anderson Granville and Dollie Marie Taylor Peek. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Blaine Peek. Barry married Paula McLeroy on July 26, 1966, in Annona. Barry had a passion for Horse Racing and owned and raced horses. He loved his grandchildren and was a friend to all. Barry was a member of the Annona First Baptist Church. Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2013, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Woodard and Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Savannah Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends an hour before service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Danny Miller, Scott King, Jacob King, Shane Davis, Jason Ramsey, Rodger Baird and Nick Baird. Honorary Pallbearers are Solon King, Gerald Rust, James Dean Floyd, Junior Dean, Charlie McKinney, Bill Minter, Leon Blake, J.L. O’Neal, Thomas Coppinger and Rickey Baird. Survivors include his wife Paula Peek of Annona; two sons, Darin Peek of Annona and Blaine Peek and Cheri of Bagwell; two sisters, Janice Martinez of Houston and Jo Ann Godwin of Avery; three brothers, Carl Peek of Paris, Martin Peek of Avery and Bob Peek of Hooks; a brother-in-law, James Harold McLeroy and wife Lori of Detroit; seven grandchildren, Ashley, Allyson, Justin, Kennedy, Emory, Drew and Eric; seventeen nieces and nephews and his faithful companion, “Snickers”.
