Obituary of James Vernon Braden Harp

James Vernon Braden Harp age 77 of Bagwell passed away Monday, August 31, 2009 at his residence. Mr. Harp was born June 30, 1932 in Bagwell to Rufus and Rosa Anderson Harp. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and retired from Valley Spreader Inc. in Brawley, California. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Harp; his son, James Allen Harp; daughter, Peggy Wilcox; two sisters, Gwendolyn and Mary Idalou; and brother, Rufus Harp. Survivors include his son, Richard Johnson of Chicago, Illinois; daughter in law, Daphne Harp of Stratton, Maine; grandchildren, James Harp, Sheena Harp, Dannel Ellis, Eddy Ellis, Richard Wilcox, Amanda Johnson and Joshua Johnson; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2009 at Blanton Creek Cemetery with Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial follows in Blanton Creek Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Honorary Pallbearers are James Harp, Ronnie Harp, Howard “Chief” Harp, Vernon Harp, Tim Somerville, Dannel Ellis, Eddy Ellis and Alan Helberg.
