Brother Sam was the sweetest kindest person I have ever known. I loved him and will miss him. He was always laughing and so jolly. He is bringing alot of happiness in Heaven now. I will always remember Bro. Rice and Mrs. Rice for all the love that they showed to so many. The Lord truly has blessed them. Bro. Sam showed all of us what it truly meant to be a servant of the Lord. He is admired by many and will be greatly missed. His smiles could light up a room. (I loved how he always would hold Mrs. Rice's hand when they were walking. A couple like this showed the younger generation the meaning of love.)

Mrs. Rice, I remember Sam as my favorite aunt's (Edna Moore Carter) pastor at New Shamrock Presbyterian Church in the Mabry community. I also remember you as my Home Economics teacher at Avery High School. I pray for your comfort at temporarily losing Sam but know you will meet him again on the other side.
