Obituary of Ella Langston Woody

Ella Addie Langston Hagler Woody, age 87, of Detroit, passed away, Friday, March 08, 2013, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Woody was born January 23, 1926, in Iowa Park, Texas to James Alton and Annabelle Hyman Langston. She is preceded in death by her parents; 4 brothers, Maurice, Alton, Orville “Pinky” and J.W. Langston; and 1 sister, Lois Smith. Survivors include 2 sons, Ernest Hagler and wife Joan of Burleson, Wayne Hagler and wife Joyce of Detroit; 3 grandchildren, Lisa, Jody and husband Jeff of Washington, Gunner and wife Candice of Detroit; 7 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family following her retirement from the Nevada School System in 1988. She loved her church and was a member of the Martin Memorial United Methodist Church. Funeral services are set for 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at the Martin Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Don Shovan and Rev. Jerry Irvin officiating. Burial will follow in the Bluff Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends an hour before service time at the church. Pallbearers are Ernest Hagler, Joan Hagler, Wayne Hagler, Joyce Hagler, Gunner Hagler, Candice Hagler and Celia Hagler. In Lieu of flowers, if desired, memorials may be made to the Nan’s Closet of Martin Memorial United Methodist Church, at 270 W. Lamar St., Detroit, Texas 75436.
