Obituary of Richard Wren

Richard Dean ‘Dick’ Wren Sr., age 86, of Clarksville, died, Thursday, March 07, 2013, at ETMC Tyler. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 (his 86th birthday) at the First Presbyterian Church in Clarksville with Rev Ed Dodson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before service time at the church. Dick was born March 9, 1927 in Clarksville, the son of Mack Louis Wren and Allie Maude Wren (Gaines) Wren. He was a member and ruling elder of the First Presbyterian Church where he is a member of the choir and played the pipe organ. He was a 1944 graduate of Clarksville High School and a 1957 graduate of North Texas State University. Except for a two year stint as secretary to U. S. Representative Wright Patman in Washington D. C. and a one year assignment in the U. S. Army, Dick was a lifelong resident of Clarksville. Dick married Carol Lee Puckett on September 7, 1958 and they had three children. He is preceded in death by his parents and older brother Thomas M. Wren. Dick is survived by his wife Carol Wren; eldest son Richard Dean Wren Jr. and wife Rhonda; daughter Catherine Neil Sparkman and husband Billy; and youngest son Thomas Garrett Wren. He was a loving grandfather to Catherine Lee Goodwin, Theodore Wren, Allie Sparkman, Sarah Sparkman and Allen Wren and loving great-grandfather to Jayden Lee and Madison Cheyenne.
