Obituary of Gary Bob Thomas

Gary Bob Thomas, age 78, of Clarksville, passed away, Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at his residence.  Gary was born, December 3, 1939, in Clarksville to Sylvia L. and Gladys Elizabeth Westbrook Thomas.  He was a member of the Sherry Baptist Church and was retired from the Texas Department of Human Services.  Gary enjoyed farming and ranching and was an avid crappie fisherman. He served in  the U.S. Army National Guard.  His parents; and wife, Abigail Thomas preceded him in death.

Graveside services are set for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 23, 2018, at Lone Star Cemetery with Rev. James Brown officiating.  Burial will follow under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Clarksville Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Casey Conway, Jerry Conway, Steve Ross, Rusty Ross, Sidney Ingram and Larry Joe Stafford.

Survivors include three sons; Doak Thomas and wife, Debra of Lumberton, Blake Thomas and James Z. Thomas both of Clarksville; one sister, Sue O’Dea of Richardson; two brothers, Jim Thomas and Mark Thomas both of Clarksville; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
